Look at these unicorn inspired bows!!! This isn’t fair! I remember the days that I did Short Stirrup and I swear my braids were in a single strand of navy or hunger green ribbon! I can’t wait for Logan to actually have hair that can support a real bow! For all you pony mommas out there, you have to visit Gray & Co. Designs for the most unique and colorful bows!

I have been a fan of Tara Kiwi t-shirts for many years now. The brand has a modern Californian feel with a strong nod to classic equestrian images, two descriptions that do not typically get said in the same sentence. Tara Kiwi seamlessly, and quite effortlessly, pulls of the style combination. The color palettes are soft and cheerful, easily pared with jeans, gym shorts or breeches. I also really appreciate that Tara Kiwi has a large kids selection. Now that I have a 2 year old daughter I am always on the lookout for cute kid-sized equestrian clothing. Surprisingly, it is harder to find than I thought it would be and it is even harder to find kids clothes that are not obnoxious or cheesy. Tara Kiwi is neither.
The “Helmet and Boot Wreath” is one of my favorites – I actually have this same print in adult size for myself (navy). The helmet/boot image is as traditional english as you can get but the hot pink t-shirt gives it a playfulness that is perfect for ages 2-14. I should add that the t-shirt is more of muted hot pink, as you can see from the pictures. Claudia is wearing a size 8. This t-shirt also comes in grey.
The “Roman Horse” is inspired by vintage stock pins and equestrian jewelry. I swear I had a ratcatcher pin exactly like this when I did Walk-Trot as a kid! The horse head is pictured over a riding whip. Jenna is wearing a size 10 in Cancun Blue. T-shirt also comes in grey.
Why have just one horse when you can have 16 horses? “Gaits of a Horse” is one of the best selling designs and depicts all 4 gaits of the horse. This was the first design collaboration with talented artist Danielle Demers (who you may know from Dapplebay, Inc.) and Tara Leu, the owner of Tara Kiwi. This shirt also comes in hot pink and cancun blue.
One thing I really appreciate about the t-shirts is they are long enough to easily tuck in, with no worries about them coming untucked over the lonnnng spot fence or when your pony is dragging you over to the clovers! All shirts are pre-shrunk and made from 100% cotton (or organic cotton). Each design is made and screen printed in California.

When it comes to equestrian brands or themes, I have a hard time finding cute kids tshirts in size 2 or smaller. Horseplay Apparel was so generous to send Logan this tshirt and I honestly couldn’t have picked out a cuter one. The tshirt is called “parts of a pony” and it labels all the important pony parts you need to know, such as the mood indicators (aka the ears) and the mint vacuum (aka the mouth). The tshirt comes in a pale pink and the material does not shrink in the wash like I find many tshirts do.

Logan was a “Hunter Princess” for her first real Halloween. At age 1, she specializes in riding unicorn rockers, but in a few short years I hope to get her on a small pony…because small ponies are the cutest little things in the entire world. I had most of her Halloween attire already, but I didn’t have a horsie top for her to wear. It seems like there are very few baby/toddler equestrian brands out there. I was SO thankful when Bending Lines sent me a DM and came to the rescue. Logan proudly wore their logo – a stylized horse head – in metallic pink! For those that are wondering, Tanner was a cowboy. He cried the entire time we put his costume on.
Lo’s outfit breakdown: Tan baby jodhpurs (Ralph Lauren, $29); a hand-me-down, navy puffer vest (hers is Gap, but it isn’t there anymore; similar here); grey T-shirt with pink metallic print from Bending Lines, $25); pink hand-me-down boots (baby uggs); sunglasses, number and these fantastic headband tiaras (comes in a pack of 4 colors).
Where you at, equestrian baby mommas?! Finally, a cute baby horse themed product!!! Naturally, this is about 8 months too late for Andrea to use, but I wanted to share the find with any of you expecting equestrians out there. I particularly love that the print is gender neutral. Andrea used this brand, Aden + Anais, for both kids. The muslim is super soft and breathable and the product holds up after 600 washes. Great to use as a swaddle or a blanket for the stroller, carseat or swing.

A Christmas or two ago, I bought my minions at the barn ombre’ lead-ropes from Gray&Co. I was able to ask Corinn to dye them in the Charlottetowne Stable barn colors: black/grey/white. They were a big hit with the girls. And bonus: under $30 each! There are soooo many different color options to chose from which is great nowadays when everyone is “customizing their ride”.
We love supporting small businesses like Gray&Co. Did you know that Gray& Co cuts the rope, hand dyes it and attaches all their own hardware? Pretty awesome!
